In memoriam of Jane Schuck

Jane E. (Calkins) Schuck
CASSELBERRY, Fla. - Jane E. Calkins Schuck, 68, of 620 Georgetown Place, Casselberry, formerly of Johnsonburg, Pa., and Olean, N.Y., passed away Friday (Dec. 26, 2014) at the residence of her sister Cindy Elmquist, with her family by her side, following a lengthy illness.

Born May 10, 1946, in Ridgway, Pa., she was a daughter of James and Thelma Snyder Calkins.

She graduated from Johnsonburg High School in 1964. She attended St. Bonaventure University and was a graduate of Jamestown Community College.

She resided in Olean from 1970 to 1991 and had resided in Florida since 1991.

She had been employed as a paralegal for Saperson and Day of Olean for many years. She was the founder of Pensworth in Irmo, S.C. She was vice president of Brentmark Software in Orlando and the current owner of The Forest Nook Restaurant in Cooks Forest for the past 12 years. She was highly respected by her peers in the estate and financial planning profession.

She was Lutheran by faith. Jane's love of life was apparent, especially when she was with her family, playing cards, knitting, cooking and gardening. Anyone who was fortunate enough to know her was truly blessed. She will be missed.

Survivors include the father of her children, John C. Schuck III; her daughter, Nicole (Mike) Maholtz of Irmo; and her son, John C. Schuck IV and his fiancee, Andrea Villei, of Westlake Village, Calif.; a beloved grandson, Jake Maholtz; three sisters, Carol (Tom) Parana of Johnsonburg, Cindy (Joel) Elmquist of Johnsonburg and Norma (John) Kirk of Fox Lake, Ill.; two brothers, James (Janet) Calkins of Seattle and Mike (Patty) Calkins of Johnsonburg; a brother-in-law, Stanley "Staush" Kowalski of Long Beach, Ind.; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents; and a sister, Sandra Calkins Kowalski.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 3, 2015) at St. John's Lutheran Church, 325 Church St., Johnsonburg. The Rev. Stephen Fair will officiate. The family will receive guests from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Immediately following the service, everyone is invited to attend a celebration of Jane's life at the Johnsonburg Fire Hall, 99 Clarion Road, Johnsonburg. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Johnsonburg.
